New Beehives in 2019

I received this shipment on Thursday from one of my suppliers of seven complete (unassembled) beehives. This will enable me to expand the quantity of beehives at one of my apiary locations from eight to sixteen hives. One of the considerations is whether I put all of them together within the electric fence that is already in place or set them up in a second location. While there is a convenience to having them located in close proximity, starting up another location on the other side of the property could result in a different variety of honey.

Since the beehives are unassembled, it gives me something fun to do during the winter months. It is not unusual to catch me assembling frames and foundations at the kitchen table.
